Free medical services for rural communities with limited access to healthcare
About the Program
In many rural communities in Romania, access to basic medical services remains difficult. Distance from medical centers, costs, and the lack of preventive screening lead to late diagnoses and avoidable complications.
The "Health in the Neighborhood" program, run by the Medcorp Association and supported by OMV Petrom, brings medicine closer to people, directly into their communities. Through mobile medical events and multidisciplinary screening events, the program offers free access to medical services (such as laboratory tests, internal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, ultrasound exams) to rural residents. In addition, the program includes long-term monitoring through a call center and information campaigns to encourage prevention and a healthy lifestyle.
